Minimal. Bold. Expressive.

Seda Güneş, a metal sculptor living in Istanbul, builds her artistic practice on the strong relationship she establishes with materials. Continuing her artistic journey with Sevgi Karay, she pursues her work within Atölye20.
Her expertise lies in metal sculpture, focusing on transforming a hard and durable material into a medium of aesthetic expression. Centered around concepts such as form, balance, and space, her productions engage in a dialogue with the nature of metal.
In addition, she values working with oil paints and enriching her creative processes with diverse materials. Her interdisciplinary approach adds both technical and emotional depth to her works.
Güneş also gained significant experience in spatial design and implementation by actively participating in the creation process of four different museums over a four-year period as part of a museum design team. This experience contributed to developing a strong perspective in her sculpture practice, particularly regarding scale, structure, and the relationship with the audience.
She views artistic production as an exploration of the limits of materials and a search for new forms of expression, aiming to present both robustness and sensitivity together in her work.
